Custom Work

From our perspective there are 3 possible levels of custom work.
Level 1: colors
Level 2: size
Level 3: something all new


Level 1: Colors

You see something on our website that you like. You like the design. You’re happy with the size. But the color selections we’ve made aren’t quite the ones you would prefer.
There is a cheap and easy solution. Order the design from our site, but change the drop-down selection box above the “Add to Cart” button from “Standard” to “Special Order: Color”.
We will email you as soon as possible to find out what your preferences are. As long as the glass/colors you select are not special order, there is no extra charge for this service.


Level 2: Size

You see a design on our website that you like, but the size doesn’t quite suit your needs.
No matter how much you want it bigger or smaller, it is going to take us extra time to redraft the pattern to fit your requirements.
If the resizing is within a couple of inches either direction, you can expect a price increase of approximately 5%. Profoundly larger will cost more to cover the added materials expenses. Profoundly smaller may not be possible without a major overhaul of the design, which would also further increase the price.
To order a design custom sized change the drop-down selection box above the “Add to Cart” button from “Standard” to “Special Order: Size” when placing your order. We will email you as soon as possible to find out what your sizing requirements and color preferences are; after which we will send you an invoice for the added costs.


Level 3: Something All New

This is the most complicated and expensive level of custom work.
You can get a very rough guess of the cost if you can find a design on our site that you think is roughly the same size and level of complexity as what you have in mind. From that, you can figure your original custom cost to be around 1 ½ to 2 times that price. Or you can fill out the Contact Form with as much information as you can think of about what you want, and we will email you with a ballpark figure.
An exact price quote can only be achieved by actually beginning to draft the design, for which we require a $20, non-refundable, deposit.
Once all the details are worked out, and you have approved the final design, size and colors, we require ½ the final cost, minus the $20 design deposit, before any actual glass work begins. This deposit is also non-refundable. The final half is due on delivery or just prior to shipping, whichever applies.

Note: We consider ourselves fantasy and science fiction artists who happen to work in the medium of stained glass. Please keep this in mind when making custom requests. While we do make some exceptions, (we like a good seascape or mountainscape too) preferential treatment in terms of our available time will always be given to custom requests that fit our artistic inclination.
