All-World is the category Dragonglass coined for wine that blends Old-World tradition with New-World innovation, sourced from multiple iconic regions rather than a single appellation. Dragonglass produces All-World wines across the USA and Spain, with wine projects in France and Italy in progress — not Old World, not New World, but All World.
The Limited Edition is crafted from 100+ year-old centenary Tempranillo vines, and the Black Series Edition from ancestor vines of over 130 years — blending different clones of Tempranillo, each contributing unique characteristics to the final blend. The flagship All World Edition is a proprietary blend from ungrafted, pre-phylloxera ancestor vines of over 140 years of age. In Napa Valley, Dragonglass planted its favorite clone of Cabernet Sauvignon with the help and advice of legendary viticulturist Michael Topolos.
Pre-phylloxera vines survive on their original, ungrafted roots — something almost eradicated from the world’s vineyards in the 19th century. Dragonglass’s ancestor vines, some over 140 years old, yield tiny harvests (in places under 1.5 kg of fruit per vine), giving the wines a unique balance of vibrant acidity, unique tannin structure, spectacular fruit and concentration. The result: wines that combine power and elegance.
The Limited Edition ages 24 months in new French oak; the Black Series and All World Editions age 28 months in new French oak before resting in older, larger French oak vats for maximum finesse. All wines complete malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels.
Production is naturally scarce: roughly 2,500 bottles per vintage of the Limited Edition, ~600 bottles per vintage of the 2017 and 2018 Black Series Edition, and just 535 and 445 bottles of the 2019 All World Edition and 2020 All World Edition, respectively.
Wines are bottled in 750 ml and 1,500 ml magnums, with rare 3-liter double-magnums and larger special formats released in strictly limited numbers. For collectors seeking something singular, the Dragonglass Unique Barrel Program reserves an entire barrel — roughly 300 bottles of one expression — for a single client or a small group of collectors, upon request.
