01
Viticulture
Sourced from ancestor vines of over 140 years of age — ungrafted, pre-phylloxera plantings on their original roots.
Exclusively manual harvest with rigorous pre-selection at the vineyard, followed by meticulous table selection. Continental climate with Atlantic influences; stony, sandy and clay-rich soils of tumbled sandstone, clay and limestone conglomerate at 700–800 m altitude.
02
Vinification & Élevage
Aged 28 months in new French oak, followed by 16 months in larger used French oak barrels to further integrate and refine its remarkable tannin structure. Malolactic fermentation in barrel.
03
Tasting Analysis
Deep purple with fluorescent hues, it opens with aromas of Asian spices and red and black fruits—blackberry, black cherry, cassis, and blueberry—layered with rose petals, violets, graphite, and Chinese ink. With aeration, additional nuances emerge, adding further complexity and character.
The palate is full-bodied yet refined, showing black and red fruit, dark chocolate, mocha, and coffee alongside vibrant acidity and a distinct mineral core. Fine tannins and excellent balance provide structure, precision, and freshness, leading to a long, harmonious finish.
04
Cellaring & Service
Layered and focused, this wine balances power with finesse and offers a distinctive expression of its style. Decanting is recommended to fully appreciate its complexity and uniqueness. Crafted to age gracefully for decades under optimal cellar conditions.
